Family Reunion

Every three years, my very large extended family gathers in Southeastern Oklahoma to reconnect, celebrate, and remember where we came from. In 2025, we're marking a special milestone—130 years since our family homestead was established in what was then Oklahoma Territory. To help everyone identify which of the 11 siblings they're descended from, each family branch wears a different colored shirt.

As part of the host family, I had the joy of designing this year’s t-shirt. The design draws inspiration from 1895, with an art nouveau style woven into the logo over the heart. On the back, an intricate tree symbolizes our shared roots—its branches and deep roots illustrated through clever use of negative space. It's more than a shirt; it’s a wearable tribute to our legacy.
